Dental Insurance
Most UK dental insurance policies work on a reimbursement basis, meaning:
- You are free to choose any dentist
- You pay for your treatment at the practice
- Your insurer pays you back according to your policy terms
Cover levels, annual limits, and exclusions vary depending on the policy you hold, so it’s always worth checking the details with your provider.
Dental cash plans
Many patients don’t realise they’re on a dental cash plan rather than traditional insurance.
Cash plans typically:
- Can be used at any dental practice
- Pay back up to set amount each year
- Commonly cover check-ups, hygiene visits and emergencies
- May or may not cover dental treatment
How claiming usually works
For most insurance policies and cash plans, the process is straightforward:
- You pay for your treatment at Park Road Dental Care and we email you a receipt
- You submit the receipt in a claim to your insurer or cash plan provider
- Your insurer or cash plan provider reimburses you for your dental care
If any further details or confirmation is required you can just ask us, or your provider can contact us directly. Many providers now allow claims to be submitted online or via an app.
Practice payment plans
Practice payment plans are different to dental insurance and cash plans.
Most branded monthly payment plans are only available at practices that participate in those schemes. If unsure, please contact your plan provider for clarification.
We hope to launch our own practice payment plan very soon.
