Preventative treatments
Prevention is always better than cure. We will try our best to help avoid you needing invasive dental treatment.
- Fluoride varnish to strengthen teeth
- Fissure sealants to help make it easier to keep deep grooves clean
- Oral hygiene and diet advice to help you avoid needing treatment
- Prescription high fluoride toothpaste and fluoride mouthwash can help reverse early tooth decay and protect against acid erosion and toothwear

We encourage children to attend regularly from the eruption of their first teeth.
How often should I attend?
Recall intervals are personalised and based on your individual risk level:
- Low risk patients: every 6–12 months
- Moderate to higher risk patients: every 3–6 months
- Children: usually every 3–6 months
Your dentist will recommend the most appropriate recall interval for you and explain why.
